Introduction:
Eton Dorney offers a venue that was so good it was used for the Olympic rowing. With the lake and pan flat roads the course is fast and flowing.  Add to that closed roads and it has all that is needed for a great racing experience.

Race day schedule:

  • 06:45 Registration opens   
  • 13:20 Registration closes  

Athletes may register at any time up to 15 minutes before their wave start time.    
Race numbers and timing chips to be collected from race registration on the day   

Waves:

  • 08:00 - Wave 1. Standard (Males 16 - 39)    
  • 08:30 - Wave 2. Standard (Males 40+ and Teams) 
  • 09.15  - Wave 3. Standard (Females)    
  • 10:00 - Wave 4. Sprint (Males 16 - 39)    
  • 10:30 - Wave 5. Sprint (Males 40+ and Teams)  
  • 11:00 - Wave 6. Sprint (Females)    
  • 11:30 - Wave 7. Super Sprint (Mixed, all ages)    

The close date for entries is a week before the event.  Late entries will still be taken online up until the evening before race day, your name may not be on the registration list so please bring printed confirmation of your entry. Entries on the day will incur an extra £5 cost. Swim hat, bib number and timing chip to be collected at the event. Please note that no details are sent via the postal system pre-event.  

When entering the event online please ensure you select the correct wave relative to your age, gender and distance you wish to race. Online entry includes VAT.

Teams/Relays:
Enter any of the distances as a team of 3. Hand over timing chip in transition as the 'baton'. One person completes each discipline. 

Course:
Flat and very, very fast! Dorney Lake is renowned for its traffic free, smooth tarmac course. Perfect setting for first-time racers and as a race session for more experienced athletes.  

Swim Course:
Super Sprint = x 1/2 lap. Sprint = 1 lap. Standard = 2 laps
750m clockwise. Rectangle course with the swim exit into transition. The water is very clean and clear. The lake tends to warm up very quickly after a few days of sunshine. Course marked by large inflatable buoys. Keep these to your right.  

Bike Course:
Super Sprint = x 2 laps. Sprint = 4 laps. Standard = 8 laps
Anticlockwise lapped course around the return lake. Each lap is 5km long. Ride on the left-hand side and over take on the right. No drafting or riding as a group. It is advisable to use a GPS or bike odometer to aid counting laps.  

Run Course:
Super Sprint = x 1/2 lap. Sprint = 1 lap. Standard = 2 laps
Out and back course using the lake side path.  Drinks stations at the far and close turn points. 

Event Rules:

  • All participants must read and adhere to the directions given in the pre-event information pack.  
  • Wetsuits and issued swim hats are mandatory for all swimmers.  
  • All cyclists will wear a correctly fitted BS-EN cycle helmet.  
  • Cycles must have working front and rear brakes and all equipment must be in good serviceable order.  
  • Drafting and riding in groups is not permitted.  
  • All cyclists will adhere to the rules and regulations of the highway code.   
  • Participants are to be responsible for completing the correct amount of laps for each discipline.    
  • Minimum age is 16 years old.

Spectators:
Eton Dorney lake is an excellent location to relax at whilst your athlete is racing around. The Cafe will be open serving hot food and drinks.  Please do not walk on or obstruct the bike or run course, keep dogs on leads and children under control.
